Domestic abuse caseworker

Our domestic abuse caseworker is here to support victims of domestic abuse regardless of how long ago the crime happened. We can help you in the lead up to a court case or after sentencing. You can also access our support if you do not want to report the crime to the police.

Hate crime caseworker

The Wales Hate Support Centre funds a Dyfed Powys hate crime caseworker who can provide free, confidential and independent support to all victims of hate crime. This includes offering direct support to young people aged 13 and over.

Hate crime is the term used to describe an incident or crime against someone based on a part of their identity.

There are five categories of ‘identity’ when a person is targeted:

  • disability
  • race or ethnicity
  • religion or belief (which includes non-belief)
  • sexual orientation
  • transgender identity.

Victim Support also recognises crimes targeted at alternative sub-cultures (such as Goth) as a form of hate crime.

Our dedicated hate crime caseworker knows the effects of a hate crime can last a lifetime, and many people find it beneficial to talk to someone who understands. That’s why we’re here to listen, support and empower victims to know their rights and report these crimes.

Our Wales Hate Support Centre can report crimes directly to the police on your behalf and can support you through the investigation process.

Children and young people caseworker

Our children and young people caseworker can provide direct support to anyone under the age of 18 who has been affected by crime. Our caseworker can provide one-to-one support in whatever setting is comfortable for you such as virtual (eg video call), by text or WhatsApp, or in person. We can help to build confidence and resilience after crime and connect you with wider support agencies.
