Kate’s story
Kate had been a victim of fraud. The fraudsters had gained access to Kate’s bank account and had used it to make fraudulent purchases. At the point of accessing support, Kate was struggling to claim the money back through her bank and she described fear of using her phone through concern of further fraud.
Kate was assigned a supporter who provided practical safety advice as well as guidance around dealing with her bank, resulting in her reclaiming the money lost. Kate said of the support she received:
When I was going through what happened I had lost confidence using my phone. I was not picking up calls. The support made me feel safe and confident.
