Liam was randomly attacked while waiting at a taxi rank after a night out.
I fell down and smashed my head on the pavement. They all ran off. I was taken to hospital – I had a blood clot and swelling on my brain. I remained in a coma for several weeks. I was released from hospital after several months and had to rebuild my life.Victim Support got me through the hard times, and even helped me to secure a volunteer role, and later, paid work. I suffer from memory problems, but Victim Support helped me get advice on how to improve this, and work around any difficulties.
I really had to work very hard to get where I am today, and I do still struggle with health problems. But Victim Support cared, and helped me through everything. I would not have made it this far without them. They even helped me with my criminal injuries compensation claim, which I received recently. It’s helped me to get my life back on track. I will soon have a good job and career. Life now is good, all thanks to Victim Support. They understood me.
