North Wales Victim Help Centre is here to support anyone affected by crime. That’s not just victims, but their friends, family and any other people involved.

Because we are independent, you can talk to us whether or not you reported the crime to the police. We are here just to support you.

What is the Victim Help Centre?

The Victim Help Centre is a team of caring and compassionate people who are all here to support victims of crime.

We are based in St Asaph, Denbighshire but cover the whole of North Wales.

If you want, we can support you without the involvement of the criminal justice system. We won’t contact them about you unless we feel someone is at risk.

The crime doesn’t have to have happened recently. If you were a victim of crime historically we’ll still be here for you. Sometimes things happen to you and you don’t realise that support may help until later on.

Practical support

Emotional support helps you deal with your feelings after a crime. However, there are often practical problems which can remind you of what you’ve been through. These can make it harder to get your life back under control.

That’s why we also offer help with sorting out the practical effects of being a victim.

Victim Help Centre staff have access to resources that could just make the difference to your life and help you to cope and move on from your experience.

We can also help with bigger problems such as getting medical appointments, housing advocacy or dealing with the criminal justice system before or after court.

If you need more specialist help that we don’t think we can provide, we can contact other agencies to help get the support you need.

We work closely with a wide range of other organisations with expertise that can help you with many situations caused by crime.
