Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone. There’s no need to be ashamed of reaching out for help.

Everyone has the right to live free from abuse in any form and the responsibility for abuse lies with the perpetrator. We believe that domestic abuse should not be tolerated in any context and is unacceptable, and that everyone has the right to live free from violence and abuse.

All survivors of domestic abuse should be able to access the support they deserve to help them move on. We know that not all abuse is reported to the police, and we’re here to support anyone who’s been impacted by any sort of abuse.

Our Domestic Abuse Caseworker is here to support these survivors regardless of how long ago the incidents happened, or whether the police were involved.

Our support is free and confidential and our dedicated caseworker works closely with local independent domestic violence advocates (IDVAs) to make sure you get the best support for you.

You can get support via face to face meetings, telephone or video calls.

We can help with contacting the police or other criminal justice agencies on your behalf, or advocating with statutory services if needed. We can refer you for professional counselling or talking therapy if that’s something you are interested in.

If you or someone you know is a survivor of domestic or sexual abuse, our serious crime caseworker can be contacted by calling the Victim Help Centre on 0300 303 0159 or by emailing northwales.helpcentre@victimsupport.org.uk
