If you have a query about us or the services we offer, our frequently asked questions might be able to help.
Unfortunately, our service does not cover these areas and clients will receive support from our wonderful Humberside team instead.
Once we receive your referral, we attempt to make contact with you within 48 hours, or sooner if we are able to.
We will make several attempts to contact you. This could be by text, telephone call, email, or letter, if we have been given those details. If we are unable to reach you, we will send you a text or letter advising you of our contact details.
Typically, we receive referrals from Victim Lincs who signpost and refer people to appropriate support services in Lincolnshire. Your details may also have been given to us by other agencies and organisations you might be supported by. We will only contact you if we have received your explicit consent for us to do so.
Victim Lincs is an award-winning service put in place by the Police and Crime Commissioner, providing victims of crime with invaluable help, support and guidance. Victim Lincs can discuss different support options available to you, and make referrals to specialist services, which includes Victim Support Lincolnshire.
Our service is confidential and your privacy is paramount. We only share information about you without your consent if we’re worried about your safety or someone else’s safety, or if we are required to do so by law. Find out more about confidentiality and our privacy statement.
You can receive support at any time. It does not matter when the crime took place or if it has been reported to the police.
For some people, it might not be the right time to receive support. You can contact us at any point in the future to talk about any type of support you may need following an experience of crime or traumatic incident.
We work with an interpretation service to be able to provide support in the language of your choice. This can be over the phone or face-to-face.
Victim Support Lincolnshire is independent of the police, local authority, and the government. We are a separate service but often work alongside other agencies and authorities. Our service includes advocacy – so we can help provide you with police updates and liaison where necessary.
