How we can help

Victim Support Lincolnshire provides a multicrime service, which provides support to any victim of crime or traumatic incident. It doesn’t matter when the crime happened, or if you’ve reported it to the police.

From April 2023 to March 2024, we offered support to over 1,300 people impacted by crime in Lincolnshire.

The multicrime service is made up of trained caseworkers, who will discuss the impact crime has had on you, providing immediate support and information. You’ll also be informed of your rights under the Victims’ Code.

Depending on what you need, the caseworker will work together with you to create a tailored support plan to help you cope and move forward from the impact of crime. This might include improving your wellbeing or sense of safety. Our caseworkers will advocate for you and can also put you in touch with other services outside of Victim Support that can help.

Our caseworkers have also completed specialist training courses to enable them to support victims with specific needs. For example, by completing Independent Stalking Advocacy Caseworker (ISAC) training, our team is better equipped to deal with incidents of stalking and be the voice for the victim. Mental Health First Aid training has been completed by our team, allowing them to better support issues surrounding mental health for any individuals.

While we are able to assist with most types of crime, we do not support victims of domestic abuse or adult victims of sexual violence. Instead, we would help to signpost and refer you to the specialist services. Our in-house service ‘The Castle Service’ offers specialist support for children and young people under 18 years old who are victims of sexual offences, including rape, sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation, and more.

Our approach is about empowering people, helping them to cope and move forward from the impact of crime.
