Katie Kempen, Chief Executive at Victim Support said:
“This review comes just as the government has revealed plans to cut funding for services which support victims through the lengthy and demoralising court process. These services are the backbone of the criminal justice system, keeping victims engaged and preventing them from dropping their case, after yet another adjournment. Whilst fundamental reform is needed, it is shortsighted to think that this crisis will be solved without serious investment in court staff, infrastructure and victims’ services.”
